Based out of the Sacramento, California area The Scrambler is an e-zine that currently features new content daily to semi-daily that is then archived in a set of monthly issues. The e-zine features art, interviews, music, photography, reviews, writing and more. Scrambler Books was started in April 2008 and is an independent press. It is the print publishing arm of The Scrambler and publishes full length poetry and fiction books.
The Scrambler is not affiliated with any business or corporation. It is an original creation and independently run by people who care about those types of things. Thank you very much to all of the contributors.

A brief history of The Scrambler:
2003 – 2005: Issues 1 to 4 of The Scrambler printed as a zine in a limited run of about 100 for each issue.
2005: Format change for The Scrambler – Starts to publish monthly issues online only.
2008: Scrambler Books is founded, 1st book is published (Rarer and More Wonderful poetry by Trevor Calvert).
2009: Scrambler Books publishes 3 books (Reanimated, Somehow poetry by Valerie Loveland; The Dwell poetry by Eleanor Johnson; & Inconceivable Wilson a novella by J.A. Tyler).
2010: Scrambler Books publishes 3 books (A Cake Appeared poetry by Shane Jones; long love poem with descriptive title poetry by Matthew Savoca; & Everything is Quiet poetry by Kendra Grant Malone).
2011: Format change for The Scrambler – Posts new content daily to semi-daily. Scrambler Books publishes 1 book (Glimpses fiction by Neila Mezynski).
2012: The Scrambler begins a new feature involving translated work by writers from outside the United States.
Scrambler Books will start publishing e-book versions of all printed books published in 2012 and on.
