***This is an excerpt from the Pool Hall emails written by Nick
Deamer to the members of his Pool team. They play their
games in Santa Fe, NM so if you are in town sometime, stop
by and watch them.
hey everyone,
Did you know we're still awesome!!!? We have this
one opportunity to pull together as a team and seize
the session. Last night was our chance and we made
a huge jump in points to seal our place close to third,
for now. But we'll have to continually fight for our
position from this moment on.

We really needed last night, and we got it.
Congratulations to all of us and thank you for coming
through.

Nick,
You got lucky and luckily your opponent was forgiving.
But there were too many missed opportunities. Shot
quality was there, but not enough follow through with
your runs. This leads the opponent to think they still
have a chance to win as opposed to stabbing the cue
all the way though their body cavity like the barbarian
you are.

Jenna,
your brownies, much like your shot, are seriously
impressive. Watching your play is like experiencing a
river of chocolate flowing into my eyes and into my
soul. Totally fudgy. I think we'll all have a tough time
being critical of such a decisive and unique player.
Except jim hehe. From what I could tell our only
concern with you is ball position. Making the balls is
easy for you, but more attention to position and using
post collision ball control could give the edge on future
opponents. During your practice in the next week
really try to pay attention to cue ball placement.

Craig,
your game, in the last two games, has jumped to
incredible levels. This zen shit, happy place shit,
seems to really work for you. I wish we could all see
the happy places you go to, its probably wildly
disturbing. Midgets and clowns in vans sailing in rivers
of fudgy chocolate. Wherever it is its awesome and I'm
totally happy for you. One thing I know is working for
you is the finishing. You're cranking in 8's with total
confidence. But we still have you down for 4 ball in
hands due to scratching the cue ball in a pocket. This
needs attention constantly. You're getting your leaves,
but this is too many scratches. Check it G.

Evan,
You don't get email. Try to set up an acct soon or I will
talk shit to the rest of the team behind your back. But
you did shoot a really good game.

Jim,
I think you know where your attention needs to be
focused for your next match. You shot great, but I think
you may have been rushing to get the games under
your belt. Lapses in concentration on the 8 ball lead to
scratches. At one moment I saw you leaning way
across the table for a shot which you then missed. My
advice here would be to take the time and get the
bridge. This is why I think you were rushing the game
a bit. Towards the end of the night we all have to be
very aware of this rushing due to fatigue, and beer. It
might be best if the team invests in a purple glove for
you, this should heal your heart and get you back on
track.

We all need to now focus on what we've learned from
our time together and apply it to your PERSONAL
games. Craig has made a great example of finding HIS
game while still giving notice to what he's learned from
all of us. Its working for him like a charm and I think we
can all improve from this same tactic. We're doing
great, keep up the great support for each other and
yourselves. I almost lost it last week when I looked up
during my game to see the entire team watching and
cheering for my shot. It's so great to feel and be a part
of this. Each of us are equally important in our position
and our skill levels. I'm diggin' it! Lets all try to keep up
the momentum for the rest of the season and bring
home the trophies.

Nick
